As a mom of two kids, I've been to and hosted lots of birthday parties. In my former incarnation (pre-Mommy), I worked in event coordination, so I have lots of opinions on party venues... I also have lots of ideas of great themes and ideas, so occasionally I might toss in some ideas that go particularly well with a certain venue.
As a lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts, I'll be listing locations in Hampshire and Hampden County, with a few Franklin County, Berkshire County and Northern CT spots for my friends on the fringes. (Well, OK to be fair, those areas are ther fringes only if you put me at the center of my radius; but since it's my list - it's my radius. Sorry.)
I hope this helps inspire you to have your next kid bash at a birthday location that fits your child! The best part about having the party at a location other than your house? You don't even have to clean. Some day in the future I'll share the story of my neat-freak husband washing the walls before my son's 1st birthday... and you'll realize why I decided "not at my house" is my new party mantra!
